•    Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

•    Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

•    Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

•    Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

•    Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

•    Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.

JOB SUMMARY

The Compliance Officer functions as an independent and objective body that reviews and evaluates compliance

issues/concerns within U.S. branches; responsible to ensure that branches are adhering to governmental regulations and

laws and work closely with upper management and banking staff to guarantee the bank's policies and procedures follow

these rules. The Compliance Officer reports to Head of U.S. Operations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Coordinate with BSA Officer and Internal Control Representative to enhance all branch wide compliance including

credit, BSA, IT, HR, operations and accounting.

· Work closely with Head Office Internal Audit Department (IAD) and Legal & Compliance Department (LCD).

· Develop, initiate, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program

and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct, and ensure compliance with regulatory

requirements and minimize operational risks.

· Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies and procedures by evaluating or recommending the

initiation of investigative procedures. Develop and oversees a system for uniform handling of such violations.

· Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the branches are

being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.

· Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution

of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

· Maintain current and extensive knowledge of the laws and regulatory guidelines by which the bank is required to

comply with.

· Monitor compliance programs that have been put in place to ensure adequacy.

· Monitor internal policy and procedural manual review to ensure timely update.

· Coordinate regulator examinations (e.g. OCC & FRB) and follow up with corrective actions if any.

· Oversee vendor management program.

· Oversee fraud control program and regular compliance inspection.

· Provide appropriate training to U.S. branches where necessary.

· Assist branch management and department heads in risk management programs.

· Keep Head Office and branch management apprised of new regulatory developments.

· Complete Confirmation of Compliance for LA & Wingspan and submit to BSA monthly (by 10th) to submit to LCD.

· Other duties assigned by Head of U.S. Operations

Experience:

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assist management with the preparation of annual budget and updates as requested by CWCO

Education and Experience Required
